The distribution of the Greylags ringed in Waterland (Peereboom, Oosterpoel) shows a similar pattern as the birds ringed in Flevoland.
After the breeding season (July till September) almost all birds from this population migrate to Flevoland. Here they benefit from
the large amounts of leftovers spilled during harvest(mainly wheat). Also during winter a small part of the birds from Waterland remains in Flevoland.
Another part migrates south to Spain (Doñana en Villafafila).
